  • Las Vegas UFC Fan Expo / 4th of July Weekend

Over 4th of July weekend, Carlos Macedo had a booth at the UFC Fan Expo where he was tattooing live during the convention. He brought his video/photographer Tony Adams to document the trip. The UFC Fan Expo happen to be on 4th of July weekend, which made the trip a very exciting weekend. Carlos brought along his team, and models for the trip. He booked the biggest suite at the Luxor Hotel along with a couple other junior suites.

The first night they had the opportunity of having a limo sent over courtesy of The D Las Vegas Hotel and had dinner at Andiamo Steakhouse, thanks to good friend Richard Wilk (Director of Business of Development). This place is a must try if you are taking a trip out to Las Vegas.

Second day of the trip was 4th of July which Carlos booked a Cabana at Wet Republic where DJ Afrojack was performing, bottles were pippin, chicks were dancing, and booties were shaking! Nothing but good times!!!

Over the weekend it was time to work for the UFC Fan Expo, where most big name fighters were doing signings, Dana White spoke, the weigh-in was held, all other sorts of activities were going on. Several big names stopped by to say hello to Carlos while he was tattooing. This was a great trip, along with a successful project. PUFF DADDY SESSION

The Diddy session was very random. Carlos received a text message at 10:45PM Friday night from Diddy’s assistant Neil which said, “hey Carlos, are you available to come up tonight? Diddy wants to get his other arm done, he has a studio session at midnight”. Carlos had done the first “New York” tattoo on Diddy’s forearm which gathered lots of attention through the Social Media when @iamdiddy posted it. Twitter ImageScreen Shot 2014-06-04 at 3.22.12 PM

So Carlos called his personal Photographer Tony Adams and said “hey we are going to meet up with Diddy, Tony thought it was a joke, Carlos replied: Im serious bro meet me at the shop (Vatican Studios)”. They met up and drove up to Burbank and followed directions to the address and realized it was Encore Studios, which Carlos has previously been there in the past with his good friend “The Game”. When Carlos and Tony arrived at about 12:30AM they walked in to the studio and realized both P Diddy and Meek Mill’s were recording which they did not expect.

Carlos brought Diddy a special gift ( a framed drawing of Biggie) and handed it to him before he got started. Screen Shot 2014-05-31 at 2.33.12 PM

They hung out for about 3 hours before even getting started. By 3AM Carlos was able start his work on Diddy’s arm while @meekmill was recording and doing his thing!

  • Miami Beach Florida

    IMG_7736

From coast to coast in about five hours, Miami Beach Florida was a trip to remember!! On arrival, we set out to attend the three day tattoo convention but things didn’t seem to go our way. Long story short, we only got to attend one day but it worked to our advantage. People that know us will tell you that we take advantage of those kinds of situations and because God be with us, we prosper regardless of what things look like, that’s real talk!! We had plans for after the convention while in Miami, so I broke it down for you all below. Follow us as we continue our adventure through out the world and watch what God is going to do!!

    Day 1-4
On the first day, we got just enough sleep and went on a boat tour of Miami Beach. We would like to give a shout out to Henry from American Water Sports for being a hospitable tour guide. Along with the drinks he provided and the knowledge he had of the tour, Henry went above and beyond to show us a good time. Check him out on Instagram “saltlife305.”

Later that night we headed over to the studio to meet up with The Game, Cool, and Dre.  While at the studio, we got to kick back and listen to Game lay down some tracks. We got some video footage and some pics of that night on Instagram. If you have not checked them out please do so.

The Game in the booth putting in work.

The following days it was all about putting in work. We hit the convention the first day it opened and got to meet some cool people but the second day, I was putting in work at the booth while Carlos tattooed Freddy from BTS Customs at the luxurious hotel we stayed at and met Freddy later on that night. The first couple of pictures posted here are of the tattoos he got on his back. Freddy is a true business man and if you live out in Miami and need some car restoration and/or customizing hit this dude up! Shoot, I think this dude can take care of you if you are on the west coast too. Check him out at www.btscustoms.com and on Instagram @ btscustoms. When we could no longer work during the day, we got to play a little at night. Check out the pics!!

    Day 5-7
Portraits are Carlos’ specialty so on the 5th day, Mr. Crawford was up to bat and flew in from Atlanta to get a portrait of his daughter on his left arm. Mr. Crawford, better known as D_Dollaz1 on Instagram, is a video producer, director, and editor. We had the opportunity to learn a little about Mr. Crawford and apart from being another cool dude, the thing that stood out to me was his drive to succeed and his professionalism. We hope to work more closely with Mr. Crawford in the future regarding film. Check out the portrait Carlos completed of his daughter. Later that night we hit South Beach again and had some dinner and a few drinks while enjoying the different vibe in Miami.

    The Game & Carlos

On day six, we got to play some more but this time Henry took us out on the jet skies. This was Carlos’ first time on a jet ski and was scared but his girlfriend decided to drive while he sat behind her with his arms wrapped around her waist. We could not have asked for a better day. The sun was out and the water was perfectly warm. Check out the pics.

Day seven was all about catching up on some work and enjoying the hotel we stayed at. Later on that night we headed over to the studio once again to tattoo Game’s assistant Leauxsteez. You can check her out on Instagram as well.

    Day 8-9

Carlos tattooed a little more on both mornings but on the evening of the 8th day, we went out to Mango’s and had a nice dinner, got to watch a little show, and cut some rug!! Carlos says that the mojito drinks in Miami were some of the best he has ever had. On day 9, we got ready and packed up for our flight back to Cali. We going going back back to Cali Cali!!!

  • Frankenstein

    Frankenstein tattoo by Carlos Macedo
    Frankenstein tattoo by Carlos Macedo

We are not into tricks but here is a Halloween treat for you guys. This piece came out ridiculous!! This one was done on 10/16/13 and the person requesting this piece was very pleased with the finished product. While witnessing this tattoo being done, a few things came to mind… Did you know that the Frankenstein is not Frankenstein? Let me explain. Most people associate this monster with the name Frankenstein but the name Frankenstein is actually the name of the scientist who created the monster in the novel by Mary Shelley. The scientist’s full name is Victor Frankenstein and the story tells that he was horrified about the monster that he created. How this monster got the name is up for debate. If you think halloween is scary how about this second thought that came to mind. I thought about how groups/ organizations/governments are tampering with science to bring about there own creations. They are trying to do this with the technology we currently have, if they have not succeeded already. Anything outside God’s design for bringing about life can never be a good thing but somehow people have convinced themselves they can do better. The end result will be always lead to destruction.
